How To Handle Annoying Email Forwards from People You Don't Know or Like

My husband recently got an email forward from a man he neither knows, nor wants to know. Apparently, he got James' email from someone who used to be his friend (but isn't anymore for very good reasons!), and this guy has been sending James idiotic bulk email forwards for months now. Finally, James had enough. He sent the guy an email asking him to remove him from any future email lists. Below is the exchange in its entirety. I had a good laugh when he read it to me!

Please refrain from including my name in any of your group emails.
I don't know you, and I am sure I don't want to know you.

All u had to say is please dont send anymore emails to me. U dont have to be an asshole dick head

James' response to BC's response:

Mr. C,

So which is it ? Am I an asshole or a dick head? We really need to clear this up so that I can sleep well tonight.

There are two reasons why I was being an asshole in my reply:

1. I have received other group emails from you before, and I didn't appreciate the nature of the message.

2. You broke a fundamental rule of email etiquette by including all of your recipients' names in the To: field. Some people (me included) don't want their email addresses made public in this way. I highly suggest that you use the Bcc: field in the future and put your own name in the To: field. If you don't know what Bcc: stands for, may I suggest doing a Google search?

Your inclusion of all of the recipients' names in the To: field revealed that one of the recipients is someone I wish to never have contact with again for as long as I live. This led me to believe that you are someone that I do not wish to know. I am naturally judging you by the company you keep. As for how you got my email address, that is a complete mystery to me since I do not recognize your name.

So in conclusion, please refrain from sending me any more of your group emails.

Have a life!!

James

Stella has Arrived!

Just wanted to let all my followers and friends know that on Saturday, September 12, at 9:54AM, my little girl, Stella, came into this world!

She weighed 5lbs, 11oz, and was 18 inches long. She is a small baby, but she is healthy and vigorous! Right now she sleeps a lot, but when she is awake, she loves to look around at her surroundings.

She's breastfeeding like a champ already and Mommy and Daddy are quickly learning to figure out what she needs and when she needs it.

Being a first time mommy is hard! So I probably won't be updating for a while. The birth story is a good one, though, and it is sure to entertain you all! (When I can get the energy to remember everything and bug James for his own input...)

In the meantime, happy end of summer, ya'll!
